Best Korea eSIM
for foreign visitors
Stay connected from the moment you land. No Korean phone number needed — just install before you fly.
Quick Answer
Airalo is the easiest and most affordable Korea eSIM for tourists. Install it before you board — no Korean phone number required. Data-only plans start from $9.50.
eSIM gives you data only — not a Korean phone number
Most Korea eSIMs are data-only. If you need a Korean number for SMS verification, you need a physical SIM from an airport telecom booth. See our payment guide for verification workarounds.

How to set up your Korea eSIM
Follow these steps before you board.
Check your phone supports eSIM
Most iPhones from XR and newer support eSIM. For Android, check your phone settings under 'SIM & network'. If you don't see an eSIM option, your phone may not support it — get a physical SIM instead.
Buy the eSIM before you leave
Purchase from Airalo or your preferred provider. You'll need Wi-Fi or data to install it. Buy at least 1 day before departure so you have time to troubleshoot if needed.
Install the eSIM
Open your confirmation email and scan the QR code, or follow the manual installation steps. Go to Settings → Cellular/Mobile → Add eSIM. Keep your home SIM active during installation.
Set data to use the Korea eSIM
After installing, go to Settings → Cellular → and set your Korea eSIM as the data line. Keep your home SIM for calls if needed. Turn on data roaming for the Korea eSIM.
Arrive in Korea and connect
Your eSIM should connect automatically once you land. If it doesn't, toggle airplane mode on and off. Check that the Korea eSIM is selected for data in your settings.
When something goes wrong
Common eSIM problems and fixes.
⚠️ My phone doesn't support eSIM
Get a physical SIM card at Incheon Airport (T-mobile, SK Telecom, KT booths are at arrival hall). Expect to wait 15–30 minutes.
⚠️ eSIM installed but no connection
Toggle airplane mode on and off. Check that data roaming is enabled for the Korea eSIM line. Restart your phone if needed.
⚠️ I need a Korean phone number (not just data)
Data-only eSIMs do not give you a Korean number. For Korean SMS verification, you need a physical SIM with a Korean number — available at airport telecom booths.
⚠️ My eSIM ran out of data mid-trip
Most providers offer top-up options in their app. Alternatively, buy a new short-term eSIM from Airalo — it activates within minutes.
