Korea's high-speed train doesn't require a Korean account to book. Here's the fastest path for foreign visitors.

Step-by-step booking
First time booking KTX? Follow these steps.
Choose your booking platform
Use Klook, Trip.com, or KORAIL Global. All accept foreign credit cards and don't require a Korean phone number. Klook is the easiest for first-timers.
Select your route and date
Choose departure city, destination, and travel date. Popular routes fill up fast on weekends and holidays — book at least 3–5 days ahead.
Pay with your foreign card
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex are widely accepted on these platforms. If your card fails, try a different card or use PayPal if available.
Get your ticket (mobile or PDF)
You'll receive a confirmation email with a QR code or PDF ticket. Save it offline. Show the QR code at the gate — no printing needed.
Board at the station
Arrive 15 minutes early. Find your platform on the departure board. Your seat number and car number are on your ticket.
When something goes wrong
Common problems and what to do.
⚠️ My foreign card was declined
Try a different card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex). Some prepaid or debit cards are blocked. Try PayPal if available, or switch platforms.
⚠️ The site asks for a Korean phone number
Use Klook or Trip.com instead of korail.com — these platforms don't require Korean verification.
⚠️ Sold out on one platform
Check other platforms. Inventory sometimes differs. Also check for alternative dates or nearby departure times.
⚠️ I don't understand the seat options
"Standard" is fine for most trips. "First Class" is quieter and wider. Window seats are marked A/D depending on the route direction.
